Research

Research in plastic, aesthetic, and reconstructive surgery is a central component of our work. We cover the entire spectrum from basic research to clinical application.

Our research focuses on:

Reconstructive surgery
Hand surgery
Aesthetic surgery
Burn surgery

We are particularly involved in regenerative medicine, tissue replacement, wound healing, and aging processes.

COREMED - Center for Regenerative Medicine and PRECISION MEDICINE

The Center for Regenerative Medicine and Precision Medicine (COREMED) is a collaboration between the Medical University of Graz and JOANNEUM RESEARCH Forschungsgesellschaft mbH. Here, we conduct research into the regeneration of tissues and organs—by activating the body's own healing processes or through tissue engineering in the laboratory. COREMED combines medicine and technology and provides new impetus for sustainable and innovative healthcare.
