One main responsibility of the division is university teaching through which our highly qualified staff pass on their knowledge of plastic surgery and the latest scientific findings to trainees and students. Postgraduate training and professional development are also key concerns of the division.
In addition to knowledge transfer, other key concerns are introducing students to respectful interaction with patients and providing comprehensive care. In patient care, research and above all teaching, the division is active in local, regional, national and international networks and at the preclinical institutes and divisions.
For years, the Division of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery has fostered close collaboration (including exchange programs) with partner institutions in Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, the USA and Canada.
The wide range of professional development opportunities at the Medical University of Graz is directed at a variety of occupational groups in the fields of medicine, science and research, nursing and health services. Most of the professional development courses can be completed while the participant is regularly employed and provide him/her with a valuable additional qualification.
